A champion for a better future in Orléans
Marie-France Lalonde was elected on October 21, 2019 as the Member of Parliament for Orléans, after serving 5 years as the Member of Provincial Parliament for Ottawa-Orléans, where she was Minister of Francophone Affairs, and Minister of Government and Consumer Services.
Last March, Marie-France was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages. She currently serves on both the standing committees for Official Languages and Veterans Affairs and is the Chair of the Canada-France Inter-Parliamentary Association.
In addition to being a proud Franco-Ontarian, Ms. Lalonde is a Rotarian and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Orléans Branch 632.
With a degree in social work from the University of Quebec in Hull, she put her leadership and skills to work for more than a decade in the care sector before becoming co-owner and general manager of a residence for seniors, the Portobello Manor in Orléans.
Marie-France has lived in Orléans since 1999 with her husband, Alvaro, and her daughter, Monica.
Alongside Justin Trudeau and the Liberal team, Marie-France is committed to continue to be a strong voice for the people of Orléans and she will continue to defend our priorities.
