A champion for a better future in Orléans
Marie-France Lalonde was first elected as the member of Parliament for Orléans in 2019 and was re-elected on September 20, 2021. She joined the House of Commons after 5 years in the Ontario legislature, where she served in Cabinet.
She is a proud Franco-Ontarian and has lived in Orléans since 1999. Marie-France has a long history and deep roots in the Orléans community is eager to continue representing the needs of the constituents as the federal liberal candidate.
As a former business owner in Orléans and as the local liberal representative both provincially and federally for the past 11 years, Marie-France understands what matters to our community. She has been a strong voice advocating for small businesses, seniors, affordable housing, the environment, the francophonie and for young families, during a time when Orléans has seen the largest population growth in the Ottawa region.
Marie-France holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Quebec in Hull and has worked for more than a decade in the care sector including the Children’s Aid Society and the Ottawa Hospital before becoming co-owner and general manager of a retirement residence for seniors, the Portobello Manor in Orléans. Her work as a business owner was recognized by the Orléans Chamber of Commerce in 2010 with the New Business of the Year Award.
For over 8 years, Marie-France held senior management positions in the retirement sector including Senior Executive Director of Operation and Regional Director of Marketing and Sales.
If re-elected, Marie-France will continue putting her passion to work, delivering for the people of Orléans and Canadians right across the country.
